Double Lock and Vent Cover - Older Titan Oil Tanks (longer arm) (TA50)
The double lock comes with a vent cover (to prevent malicious removal of the vent), a new gasket and tamper proof screws.
It is wise to secure both inlets of your oil tank (i.e. the fill point and inspection lid) if your tank does not have a spillstop fitted. Older tanks are unlikely to have spillstops, so we recommend this double lock to ensure both openings are protected.
Older Titans - this Tank Arm is suitable for older Titan oil tanks with threaded screw type lids, manufactured between approximately 1995 and 2000. There is usually a serial number stamped near the lid of the tank - the last 2 digits indicate the year of manufacture.
Longer or shorter arm? If the distance between the centre point of the 2 caps is less than 9 inches, please order the Tank Arm for Older Style Titan Oil Tanks - Shorter Arm.
Please check the thread on the fill point (the smaller hole) - if plastic, you will need to buy a Metal Thread Union.
The first Titan oil tanks (circa 1995) with old style lids used a plastic 2" thread. Due to distortion in sunlight, Titan replaced this with a metal threaded union.
The metal cap of the Tank Arm will not screw onto a plastic thread - it will just bite into the plastic thread and not screw on properly.
Therefore in order for the Tank Arm to work properly, this plastic threaded union needs to be replaced with a metal one. We supply second hand metal unions at a reduced rate of £10 + vat.
Materials: All Tank Arms are made from 5mm thick solid steel. The steel is zinc plated and assembled with a stainless steel tamper proof rivet, providing an anti-corrosion barrier so the arms will never rust or seize. The 2" aluminium cap is attached to the arm with a hardened steel pin, welded at both ends, to prevent removal.
Padlocks: We do not include a padlock, as some customers will have one already. However a padlock is required. We recommend the ABUS padlock.

The Tank Arm oil tank lock can be fitted without any drilling. However, some people may find it easier to drill pilot holes first. In such cases, we recommend a 3mm drill bit, for sale online for 80p. See our 3mm drill bit page for more details.
